I just got my side grips and absolutely love them. I just love how they hold the sides of my backing on the frame straight and even. One of the best investments for my quilting.

These side grips are easy to use. Consistent tension on the backing unlike the clamps that only hold partial backing.

Love that the grips hold more fabric than just 2 bites on each side. This provides more even tension on sides of quilt and makes it easier for quilting.

These side grips attach easily and I don’t get my fingers pricked. I hade made a set of side grips with duck cloth and a dowel rod, which worked well, especially when I was using the ruler base. The drawback was each time the quilt was advanced I had to unpin and re-pin—-a total of ten T-pins, which was awkward and time consuming. These side grips are a great time saver.

It is well made, grips are tight, however it can grip only the backing layer. I would prefer if the rod is thinner so the whole sandwich could be squized into grips. Overall, very useful product, in my oppinion slightly overpriced.
